Mexican Alejandro Kirk sinks Mariners with home run and Toronto wakes up
The Blue Jays get right into the fight against Seattle by hitting five home runs in Game 3 of the Championship Series

After losing the first two games of the series in their own stadium, the Blue Jays quickly fell behind by two runs this Wednesday against the Mariners.
But the Toronto team woke up shortly after in the American League Championship Series, including five home runs hit in the game to end up beating Seattle 13-4 and get right into the fight.
The winner of the AL pennant series will face the Dodgers-Brewers winner in the World Series.
Toronto's barrage of hits after a rough start
Among the Canadian team's blasts was one by Mexican catcher Alejandro Kirk, who drove in three runs with his blast in the sixth inning to basically blow out the home team by making the score 12-2.
Toronto had only scored four runs in the first two games of the series, losses of 3-1 and 10-3. Then, in the first inning of Game 3, Julio Rodriguez homered with a runner on, immediately turning Mariners Stadium into an erupting volcano. Seattle has never reached the World Series.
The Blue Jays, meanwhile, are trying to advance to the World Series for the first time since 1993, when they won their second straight championship.
After Rodriguez’s feel-good blast for Seattle, the Blue Jays unleashed a barrage of home runs, starting with Andres Gimenez, who tied the game at 2 in the third inning with his first home run in months. The visiting team added three runs that same inning.
Eight-homer night at T-Mobile Park
George Springer homered in the fourth inning, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.—who was perfect at 4 for 4—hit in the fifth, and Kirk followed with two on in the sixth. The small but powerful player from Tijuana has become one of his team's best hitters, in addition to being a finalist for the Gold Glove Award for his defensive prowess. Addison Barger closed the scoring with a home run in the ninth.
In a park where the ball doesn't normally fly much, there were a total of eight home runs in the game, as Cuban-Mexican Randy Arozarena and 2025 Major League home run champion Cal Raleigh connected for Seattle.
Shane Bieber was the winning pitcher with a 6 innings and 2 earned runs, while George Kirby was the loser after allowing 8 runs.
The series will continue this Thursday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle with Game 4. The Blue Jays have already woken up and this series could be very different from now on. Toronto has already surpassed 50 runs in this postseason in seven games.
