Ricardo Ferretti asks Henry Martin to forget about El Tri
Henry Martin was for a long time one of the key players in the Mexican national team's attack. The Aguilas del America forward has had little continuity in El Tri due to his injuries. Ricardo Ferretti believes his current physical problems are due to poor decisions in the past.

The Barca striker has suffered another injury. Henry Martin will be out due to a sprained knee. The Mexican forward will be sidelined for several weeks.
Ricardo Ferretti recalled that he was the one who first called up Henry Martin. "Tuca" gave the Mexican striker his debut in 2015 in a match against Trinidad and Tobago. However, Ferretti believes the America forward has a long list of injuries of his own making.
“I invited him to the national team for the first time and he hurt himself… three muscle injuries that are normal. The Achilles tendon is the detail that needs to heal. He didn't want to have surgery; he dealt with physiotherapy, treatments, and all that,” Ferretti said on ESPN.
“Tuca” is referring to an injury he suffered in October 2023. Henry Martin had chronic discomfort in his Achilles tendon. By not treating this injury surgically, Martin has had recurring problems such as tears, tendonitis, and muscle relapses. Ricardo Ferretti recommends surgery.
“So, when you have an injury you lose confidence and you start to rely on the other leg and problems begin like tendonitis and knee sprain. He has to have surgery and forget about the national team, since (Javier) Aguirre sent him to the stands, goodbye, you no longer have a chance,” he concluded.

Since Ricardo Ferretti's first call-up in 2015, Henry Martin has played 46 matches with the Mexican national team. In just over 2,142 minutes with El Tri, Martin has scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists.
Henry Martin's last match with the Mexican national team was in September 2024. More than a year ago, the Aguilas del America forward played in two friends for El Tri.Martin came on in the second half of the matches against New Zealand and Canada.
