ICE in the eye of the hurricane by covert raids in Los Angeles
State and local leaders are concerned about the presence of masked men who may pose as federal agents for criminal purposes
In addition to protesting the raids by federal immigration agencies, state and local leaders in Los Angeles County agreed to call for a statewide ban on agents carrying out masked operations without proper identified.
Since June 6, agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have been carrying out the presidential order to arrest undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles and Southern California for the purpose of deportation.
Federal immigration agents have been heavily criticized for carrying out the raids while wearing face coverings and in vehicles that are not marked as police.
