Bass maintains lead in Los Angeles mayoral election
Karen Bass leads the primary elections to advance to the November runoff and be re-elected as mayor of Los Angeles for a second term
With more than 60% of the ballots counted, Karen Bass maintains her lead of at least four points over Spencer Pratt in the preliminary results for the mayor of Los Angeles.
According to the “Los Angeles Times,” Bass is the virtual winner in the primary with 34.8% (172,720 votes), ahead of reality television star Spencer Pratt, who is in second place in the race with 30% (150,149 votes). Both would face each other in the November general elections.
Councilor Nithya Raman, whom previous polls placed as Bass's possible rival on the November ballot, preliminary results placed her in third place, with 22% (110,848 votes).
