Several JUI-F leaders became victims of the blast
Pakistani police said in a statement that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber. The attacker arrived at the rally wearing an explosive-laden jacket and detonated it when a large number of people were present during the rally. The attacker detonated an explosion close to the stage, due to which many leaders of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl came under the grip of this blast. Party leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman was not present at the rally.
IS suspected of suicide attack
Let us tell you that the place where the explosion took place, Bajaur district is located on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and is considered a stronghold of the radical Tehreek-e-Taliban. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl, is also generally considered to be a supporter of local Islamic organizations. Initial investigation has revealed that the attack was carried out by the dreaded terrorist organization Islamic State. The organization operates from Afghanistan and is considered an enemy of the Afghan Taliban. This is the reason why the Islamic State is being suspected of the attack. Tehreek-e-Taliban has also issued a statement saying that this attack has been done to pit Islamic organizations against each other.
