Iranian authorities have arrested one of the country's most famous actresses for spreading lies about nationwide protests. The star of the Oscar-winning film Taraneh Alidosti has been arrested after supporting anti-hijab protests and posting a photo of herself with the protesters' main slogan. The state media has informed about this on Saturday.

Taraneh Alidosti, star of the Oscar-winning film "The Salesman," was detained a week after she posted a post on Instagram, reports said. In the post, the actress had expressed solidarity with the first person who was recently sentenced to death for alleged crimes committed during the nationwide protests.
