Los Angeles approves $5 million for the payment of LAPD overtime

The Los Angeles City Council approved this Wednesday a loan of $5 million for the partial pay of overtime of the police department officers who participated in the response to the demonstrations in the city center due to the immigration raids.
Council members voted 13 to 2 to authorize the funds, which come from the city's reserve fund.
The special motion was introduced during Wednesday's meeting by Councilmembers John Lee and Katy Yaroslavsky. Councilmembers Eunisses Hernandez and Hugo Soto-Martinez voted against the motion.
