CHIRLA denounces attack on immigrant helplines in Los Angeles

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) denounced the politically motivated attack on information and assistance hotlines for immigrant communities by the Trump administration.
According to the coalition, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, He urged the public to contact organizations' hotlines, such as CHIRLA, to harass them, provide false leads, and overwhelm their services, including resources to block their assistance to immigrants. CHIRLA representatives stated that the organization has operated its hotlines for over 31 years to provide guidance and assistance to more than 20,000 people annually.
