Trump landed in Beijing for key meeting with Xi among global tensions
The president starts his visit to China marked by trade, Taiwan and Iran
President Donald Trump landed this Wednesday in Beijing at 7:50 PM local time (11:50 GMT) to develop until the pro Next Friday, a state visit to China, his second to the Asian country since the one he made in 2017 during his first term.

The route from the airport to downtown Beijing was decorated with flags of China and the United States, while several skyscrapers displayed mens luminous welcome signs to the Chinese capital at the passage of the presidential caravan, which arrived at Trump's hotel around 8:38 local time (12:38 GMT).

Trump's arrival also dominated Chinese social media, where topics related to his visit occupied five of the top-ten trends on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of platform X,this Wednesday.
The tag ‘Trump arrives to Beijing’ accumulated more than 8.3 million views and about 26,000 comments on the platform within a few minutes of landing.
The most prominent comments on Weibo were dominated by messages of welcome and calls for a “stable” and “mutually beneficial” relationship between both powers, in line with the usual rhetoric of the Chinese government on relations with the United States.
In just two days, Trump will face a concentrated agenda that will include bilateral meetings with Xi, a state dinner, and protocol activities. ias in emblematic spaces of Chinese power such as the Great People's Palace and Zhongnanhai, headquarters of the dome of the Chinese Communist Party(CCP).
The visit occurs nine years after Trump's previous trip to China, in November 2017, when he participated with Xi in events in the Forbidden City of Beijing.
Both parties are now seeking to consolidate the trade truce reached after months of tariff war, although disputes persist over technology, rare earths, and access to the Chinese market.
Before their arrival in Beijing, delegations led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Prime Minister He Lifeng held this Wednesday in Seoul “constructive” economic consultations to advance the resolution of its tariff tensions, said the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
