The market opened with gains on the last trading day of the week. In early trade on Friday, the Sensex is seen trading at 61,779.31 points with a gain of 54.56 points. While Nifty is trading at 18,336 points with a gain of 22.10 points. On Friday, the Sensex opened at a level of 61858 points with a gain of 107 points, while the Nifty opened at a level of 18383 points with a gain of 39 points. Bank Nifty showed a strength of 87 points compared to the previous day and opened at 41545 and Nifty Midcap strengthened at 31162 points.

Earlier, after a weak start, the US market returned strongly. The Dow Jones closed flat, up 300 points. Nasdaq also recovered up to 150 points but it closed down 40 points. In the Asian market, SGX Nifty is up 75 points and is trading at 18450 points.
