Decided: Porsche ends family Taycans in the United States
The German brand will stop offering the Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo in 2027 after the decline in demand in the US.
Not all vehicles manage to survive the market verdict. Even models admired by enthusiasts can disappear when the numbers stop accompanying them. That is precisely what will happen with two of the most particular variants of the Taycan family.

Porsche decided to withdraw the Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo versions from its American catalog starting with the 2027 model year. The measure coincides with the renewal of the electric sedan and represents the closing of a stage for the last family vehicles that remained within the brand's offering.

Although the company did not make a formal announcement at the launch of the 2027 range, the absence of both bodies did not go unnoticed. Shortly after, various specialized publications confirmed that the models will no longer be marketed due to insufficient demand.
The numbers ended up tipping the balance
The Taycan came to the market as one of Porsche's most ambitious electric bets. Its combination of features, luxury and technology allowed it to quickly capture the attention of buyers.
However, the panorama began to change. In 2023, the brand recorded its best result in the United States with 7,570 units sold. From then on, the trend was clearly downward.
Deliveries fell to 4,747 vehicles in 2024 and fell again to 4,142 units in 2025. The most recent data is also not encouraging. During the first quarter of 2026, Porsche sold just 607 Taycans, well below the 1,019 registered in the same period of the previous year.
A different model within the range
When it appeared in 2021, the Taycan Cross Turismo offered an unusual proposal among premium electric cars. It retained the sporty character of the Taycan, but added a more practical body and greater loading capacity.
It also incorporated a configuration aimed at less conventional roads, something that allowed it to differentiate itself from most rivals in the luxury segment.
For its part, the Sport Turismo opted for a more elegant and sporty aesthetic, maintaining greater versatility compared to the traditional sedan.
Electrification remains a priority
The release of these versions does not mean that Porsche is reducing its electric ambitions. The brand's electrification strategy continues to advance, although with adjustments according to the reality of each market.
In the United States, the company continues to rely on models such as the Taycan, the electric Macan and the future Cayenne Electric. The difference is that it now seeks to simplify its offer and concentrate resources on the configurations that generate greater demand.
The farewell to the Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo marks the end of a proposal highly appreciated by a group of loyal customers. However, in today's automotive industry, passion often carries less weight than sales figures, and Porsche has just made a decision that reflects precisely that reality.
