This information coincides with that calculated by the Dow Jones, which indicated at the opening of the day that the US dollar was quoted at $17.36 Mexican pesos, equivalent to an increase of 0.25% compared to the previous close of $17.32 pesos. Despite the advance, the currency remains below its six-week high, as expectations continue of a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran to reduce tensions in the Middle East.
The Bank of Mexico reported that the official closing of the dollar corresponding to Wednesday, May 20, 2026 was $17.28 pesos per US currency.
In the last week, the dollar accumulates an advance close to 0.1%; However, in annual comparison it still presents a drop of 10.15%, reflecting the strength that the Mexican peso has maintained against the US currency during recent months.

The FIX exchange rate is determined by Banxico on banking business days based on the average of wholesale market quotes and is published one day before in the DOF.
