Tesla desaparece del podio eléctrico tras extenso análisis
Un estudio alemán analizó 874 innovaciones eléctricas y dejó a Tesla fuera del podio frente al avance de BYD, Geely y Volkswagen
Tesla no longer sets the pace as before within the electric car. The market is moving fast and there are manufacturers that are beginning to impose their own pace with new technologies, better yes loading systems and an offensive of models that doesn't stop growing. Now, a study carried out in Germany has finished confirming something that in the industry has been discussed for sometime.

The report was developed by the German Center for Automotive Management, known as CAM, under the leadership of Professor Stefan Bratzel. The work took takes innovations introduced by 35 manufacturers and automotive groups between 2020 and 2025, a particularly intense period for the industry.
Geely surprises and leads the ranking
The big winner of the study was Geely. The Chinese group achieved 209 points and ended up leading the overall classification thanks to the technological evolution of several of its electric and plug-in hybrid models.
The research especially highlights some developments linked to ultra-fast charging and performance. One of the most mentioned vehicles This is the Lotus Emeya, capable of withstanding charging powers of up to 450 kW, a figure that places it among the most advanced electric of the moment.
In addition, Geely continues to expand its international presence. The manufacturer has just landed in Spain and is also preparing the arrival of Zeekr, its premium brand, with which it intends to compete in higher-value segments.
Volkswagen and BYD stomp strong
Behind Geely appears the Volkswagen Group with 200 points. The German conglomerate achieved a very high rating thanks to its developments in batteries and sports performance.
One of the most notable projects was the new electric Porsche Cayenne, an SUV that promises more than 1,100 horsepower and performances typical of a supercar.
BYD, for its part, closed the podium with 171 points and once again demonstrated why it has become one of the major players in the global market. The study becomes special. ntion about the new generation of Blade Battery 2.0, a system capable of recovering up to 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes thanks to charges of up to 1,000 kW.
That type of advances explains why BYD continues to grow at such a high rate and already widely surpasses many traditional manufacturers in different markets.
Tesla loses weight to its rivals
The most striking data in the report has to do with Tesla. The American brand fell to sixth position and was behind Geely, Volkswagen, BYD, SAIC and BMW.
According to the study, Tesla's main problem is the lack of important innovations in recent years. While other companies accelerate n the launch of platforms, batteries and unreleased models, the firm led by Elon Musk considerably reduced its rate of innovation.
BMW also received praise for its new iX3 and i3, especially for its advances in range, while Mercedes-Benz was recognized for its long-range electrical developments.
The report also leaves another powerful conclusion. China and Germany are sharing practically all the technological leadership in the car electric. Chinese manufacturers concentrated 32.4% of the innovation points, while German brands reached 31.9%.
“Germany is taking significant steps in strength of electrical innovation and German OEMs are now almost on par with Chinese manufacturers; just a few years ago, the difference was much greater,” stated Stefan Bratzel.
The person in charge of the study also underlined that “BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz currently demonstrate the greatest innovative strength in regarding electric cars”.
