Investigate double homicide in Miami neighborhood after shooting in two scenes
So far, no suspects have been arrested and no motive for the shooting has been established.
Miami Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Florida, which left two people dead and two others injured.
The first report was received around midnight through the ShotSpotter system, which detects gunshots in real time. Officers responded to the area of ??Northwest Second Avenue and 62nd Street, where they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he later died.
Minutes later, officers located another victim deceased inside a vehicle at the intersection of NW 2nd Avenue and 56th Street, a few blocks from the first scene.
Police also confirmed that two other victims arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital on their own, though no details about their medical conditions have been released.
A local resident, who declined to be identified, said they heard an intense burst of gunfire. "We heard a bunch of gunshots and ran home. I know it was over 20. We're in shock; this has been too much."
At this time, no suspects have been arrested and no motive has been established for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking the community's assistance.
