A 19-year-old girl was found dead inside an apartment in North Carolina. Authorities assure that the victim would have been tortured for months
North Carolina authorities arrested a man accused of murdering his 19-year-old girlfriend after investigators uncovered evidence of alleged abuse and prolonged torture.
The victim was identified as Isabella Stroupe, who was found dead on May 1 inside an apartment. Her boyfriend, Thomaz Kenon Hamilton, 24, was charged with first-degree murder and rape, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Daily Mail.
The victim was found tied up on a blood-stained mattress.
According to court documents cited by local media, Thomaz Kenon Hamilton called 911 from a nearby gas station and claimed that the young woman had stopped breathing.
However, officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department found an alarming scene upon arriving at the apartment.
The young woman was half naked, tied with a tow strap and on a mattress with blood stains, according to the police report.
The investigation concluded that Isabella Stroupe died of homicide and had multiple serious injuries, including fractures, broken bones and stab wounds.
During the search of the apartment, authorities found a knife wrapped in cellophane with apparent traces of blood, a baseball bat, a sword, several damaged cell phones and stained clothing.
The detectives also indicated that there was evidence that the young woman had been subjected to torture for several months.
According to the file, investigators concluded that the victim “would have been physically incapable of giving consent.”
Relatives assured that they trusted the accused
Relatives of Isabella Stroupe said they were devastated and surprised by the accusations.
His sister, Marleigh Bailey, said they had known Thomaz Kenon Hamilton for years and never imagined anything similar.
The victim's brother, Jacob Walker, recalled that the young woman was passionate about reading, fantasy stories and anime.
