Ariana Grande leaves “American Horror Story” due to conflicts with her tour
According to reports, the singer did not film any scenes for the long-awaited season 13 of the Ryan Murphy series
Ariana Grande will no longer be part of season 13 of “American Horror Story.” The artist left the production due to scheduling problems with her Eternal Sunshine tour, as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly.
Although her participation was announced last October as one of the new additions, the singer did not record any scenes.
Grande began her tour on June 6 in Oakland and is scheduled to tour cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Montreal and London, where her final performance is scheduled for September 1. All concerts are sold out.
Last month, the “Positions” singer had to reschedule several dates in Brooklyn and Boston to “ensure that the full production can be delivered safely,” she explained on her social networks.
“The most important thing for all of us is safety first and foremost, and also making sure you see the show as it should be,” he wrote on Instagram.
A luxury reunion for the season
Despite Grande's loss, fans have a lot to look forward to. Season 13 will reunite an all-star cast of series veterans: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman.
The production has been filming in New York for months. Paulson, Roberts, Sidibe, Grossman and Frances Conroy (Myrtle Snow) have recently been seen on set alongside new members Avantika Vandanapu, Alex Consani and Grace Dumdaw.
In February, filmmaker John Waters revealed that he had also joined the cast in a “major role,” joking, “I'm always the devil or Chucky's father.”
The season takes up the universe of the witches from Coven (season 3), which already connected with Murder House, Hotel and Apocalypse.
“American Horror Story: 13” will premiere September 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET on FX and Hulu.
