FBI offers $150,000 for fugitive accused of million-dollar fraud: Florida and Texas in their sights
The FBI Miami offers a $150,000 reward for Khalid Ahmed Satary, accused of a $547 million fraud. He has been a fugitive since 2022
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the capture of Khalid Ahmed Satary, a fugitive named on the Most Wanted Fraudsters list and accused of participating in an alleged $547 million health care fraud conspiracy against Medicare.
Satary is wanted for his alleged participation in a health care fraud scheme that occurred between 2016 and 2019, according to the official profile released by the FBI. Authorities indicate that the man operated diagnostic laboratories that billed Medicare for expensive and medically unnecessary genetic tests.

Fugitive could have ties to Florida
The case became relevant in South Florida after local media reported that Satary could have connections with the area. NBC Miami noted that the FBI describes him as one of its “most wanted fraudsters” and that the reward offered can reach $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
The FBI office in Miami also keeps Satary on its wanted list, under the category of Most Wanted Fraudsters.
Investigators are also tracing links in Texas and other southern states.
What is he accused of?
According to the FBI, Satary is charged in connection with an alleged conspiracy to bill Medicare hundreds of millions of dollars through genetic testing. The agency maintains that the scheme would have involved deceptive marketing campaigns, telemedicine, patient recruiters and illegal payments to generate samples that were then billed to the federal program.
Authorities say the case is part of a broader federal crackdown on health care fraud. In June, the FBI announced the addition of two international fugitives to its “Most Wanted Fraudsters” list during a nationwide healthcare fraud operation that included charges against hundreds of people.

How to give information to the FBI
The FBI asks that anyone with information about Khalid Ahmed Satary contact the agency or the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate if they are outside the country.
The reward of up to $150,000 is directed at information leading to his arrest and conviction. As in all cases of people wanted on federal charges, authorities remind that Satary should be considered accused until there is a final conviction.
