Margaret Qualley's representative denies infidelity in their separation
Jack Antonoff and Margareth Qualley began their relationship in 2021 and were first seen together in early 2022
Margaret Qualley's team spoke to forcefully deny the rumors that have circulated in the press about the reasons for her separation from music producer Jack Antonoff, describing speculation about an alleged infidelity as "categorically false."
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, the actress' representative was clear: "The narratives circulating in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically false. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything beyond respect and collaboration in this relationship."
The message left no room for interpretation: the breakup has nothing to do with deception, betrayal or lack of trust. On the contrary, the statement insists that "they have a deep love and affection for each other," and that any sources purporting to speak on behalf of the couple and comment on their relationship "are not people who know them."
“There are only two people in this marriage.”
Qualley's representative was emphatic in pointing out that “there are only two people in this marriage,” a statement that seems to take direct aim at the rumors and anonymous leaks that have fueled media speculation in recent weeks.
The final request of the statement was clear: “Please respect their privacy.”
The rumors began to intensify when Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden without Qualley, bringing her sister, designer Rachel Antonoff, instead. Followers later noticed that the “Maid” star had deleted her wedding photos from her Instagram profile and changed her username.
On July 8, PEOPLE reported that the couple, married in August 2023, had split. Sources cited by the publication described their marriage as “turbulent” and stated that they were both “discovering things,” but Qualley's official statement makes it clear that these versions do not reflect the reality of their relationship.
The couple began their relationship in 2021 and made their first public appearance together in early 2022. They got engaged that same year and married in New Jersey in August 2023.
