Timothée Chalamet spoke about the emotional impact that the end of “Dune” left on him
The protagonist of the film directed by Denis Villeneuve opened up about how he experienced the farewell of his character in the famous trilogy
Just a few months after the premiere of the third and final installment of the “Dune” saga, American actor Timothée Chalamet reflected on the success of the franchise and the emotional impact that closing this chapter of his life had on him.
In a meeting with several fans, the actor who plays “Paul Atreides” and director Denis Villeneuve opened up about the closing of the trilogy, which is scheduled for December 18 of this year, in all cinemas around the world.
For Timothée Chalamet, saying goodbye to his character represented a great blow on an emotional level, as he grew up with him in several aspects.
"This was the most emotional, on a personal level. Not necessarily the character, but I've been living with this for so long. I'm very proud to live with it. I'm very proud to work with Denis and this family," he said of the experience.
The "goodbye" was so hard that the famous man acknowledges that a part of himself remains with the project: "So I felt that there was an end to the process, and I felt a certain nostalgia when living the moment, although I was 29 years old when we filmed it. I felt that I was losing a part of me when finishing it," he added.
In addition to saying goodbye to his character, Timothée Chalamet confessed that much of the pleasant experience he had was the result of the great team that made up the production.
"It was very emotional. I felt melancholy saying goodbye to this incredible family, this incredible team. And I couldn't believe how quickly the experience passed," he said.
For his part, director Denis Villeneuve spoke about Chalamet's work and concluded that he is one of the most talented actors of his generation.
"It's really impressive. It's like in the first film, where a child discovers a planet; in the second, when someone becomes an adult; and now creates something very special. I was very impressed by Timothée's performance in the film," he commented, visibly excited.
