Attempted homicide in San Bernardino: woman uses fentanyl as a weapon
Kristy Oliphant was arrested on suspicion of attempting to kill a man with fentanyl; the victim learned of the poisoning during an argument
A San Bernardino County woman was arrested on suspicion of using fentanyl in an attempt to kill a man with whom she had a previous relationship, authorities said.
In a press release, officials from the Department of San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office (SBSD) deputies responded around 7:45 a.m. on December 12 to the 22200 block of National Trails Highway in Oro Grande, an unincorporated community in the Mojave Desert. Investigators reported that the victim, an adult male, claimed he had been poisoned with fentanyl in October and only realized this during an argument with the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Kristy Oliphant, an Oro Grande resident.
