During the inspection, authorities said they found 34 open containers of alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.
A Florida man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after officers stopped him for allegedly speeding 90 miles per hour on Interstate 75 in Pasco County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident occurred near mile marker 280 of I-75, Fox News reported.
Authorities indicated that an agent was patrolling northbound when he observed that a Honda Civic overtook the official unit traveling at speeds exceeding 90 mph.
After initiating the traffic stop, the officer identified the driver as Conor William Parady, 33, of San Antonio, Florida.
Authorities reported signs of suspected intoxication
During contact with the driver, the agent determined that Parady apparently had a high level of intoxication, according to the official report.
Additionally, during the inspection of the vehicle, agents located 34 open containers of alcohol inside the car.
Observations made during the arrest led to the opening of an investigation for driving under the influence (DUI).
Parady was subsequently arrested and taken to the Pasco County Jail.
Authorities report alcohol level above the legal limit
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a blood alcohol concentration of 0.177 was recorded after the arrest.
In Florida, the legal limit for drivers is 0.08.
Online jail records show the man was booked into the county jail following the procedure. So far, it was unclear whether he had hired legal representation.
Under Florida law, a first-time DUI conviction can include penalties such as fines, probation, community service, and driver's license suspension, although any consequences will depend on the course of the judicial process.
Authorities reported that no injuries were reported during the incident.
