The Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office arrested Emilio Rodriguez, 54, accused of shooting another driver during a road rage incident on the night of Friday, October 31, in the Doral, Florida area, according to the police report.

The shooting The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. when the two drivers were involved in a road rage incident at the intersection of Northwest 87th Avenue and 64th Street in Miami. Both got out of their vehicles and began arguing in the street.

Shooted as victim returned to car

According to the arrest report, as the victim—an adult male—was walking back to his car, Rodriguez pulled out a firearm, yelled at him, and fired a shot, striking him in the face. After the attack, the suspect returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, Telemundo 51 reported.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teams transported the victim to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, where he remains in stable condition after being shot in the face.

Confession and legal proceedings

Rodriguez was subsequently arrested, arraigned in court this Saturday, and transferred to the TGK jail. During questioning, after being read his rights, the detainee admitted to firing a “warning shot” near the victim's head, according to the authorities' report. The shooting occurred in the vicinity of NW 84th Avenue and Central Park Boulevard in Doral. Miami-Dade County police reiterated that the case remains under investigation and that additional charges are not ruled out.
