A Hispanic man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment hearing for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at security officers inside the Federal Building in early December in downtown Los Angeles.

Jose Francisco Jovel, of Jovel, 54, was charged with throwing the incendiary devices at the federal facility on Monday, December 1. According to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Jovel arrived at the Los Angeles Federal Building, located at 300 Los Angeles Street, with Molotov cocktails and began shouting anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) remarks directed at security officers.
