A Minnesota man was arrested after allegedly offering $45,000 for the murder of Attorney General Pam Bondi, according to court documents.

Tyler Avalos, 29, posted the threat on TikTok saying he wanted Bondi “dead or alive” but “preferably” dead,” according to an affidavit from FBI Special Agent Caleb Jurchisin.

The investigation into Avalos began on October 9 when a Detroit informant “filed a report to the FBI's National Threat Operations Center” and flagged the suspect's TikTok account, according to the FBI.

The TikTok post included a photo of Bondi “with a red dot on his forehead,” according to the affidavit.

“Additionally, the suspicious user posted a comment underneath the description that read 'ahem, ahem'/'What if you don't get back to us?'” Jurchisin added.

TikTok, Google, and Comcast helped the FBI track the suspect, according to the affidavit, after discovering he had signed up for the platform using a Samsung Galaxy phone.

Avalos was charged with allegedly creating “an online post that contained a threat of injury,” according to a criminal complaint.

Avalos appeared in court on October 22 and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. A judge released him on bond but ordered him to wear a GPS monitor.

According to officials, the suspect has a criminal history that includes convictions for a July 2022 stalking case in Dakota County and a domestic battery charge in Polk County, Florida, in August 2016, according to the affidavit.

He also has a 2019 misdemeanor battery case in Dakota County “that appears to have been reduced from criminal domestic battery by strangulation,” the court document showed.

The suspect identifies as an anarchist, according to the affidavit, who says his username included an anarchy symbol and that an “anarchist FAQ” was pinned to his page.
