The crime of a ex-Mexican beauty queen at the hands of her mother-in-law could be due to an inheritance
Carolina Flores would have obtained an inheritance of 2 million dollars, which, for her relatives, could become the motive of crime
The case of the murder of the ex-beauty-queen Carolina Flores continues to generate new lines of investigation and controversy, after relatives of the victim pointed out that the crime could be related to a millionaire inheritance.
According to information published by media such as the Vanguardia site, the young uncles suggest that both her husband and her mother-in-law had planned the murder with the objective of keeping the money that the model received after her father's death.
According to these versions, Carolina Flores would have obtained compensation of two million dollars, which, for her relatives, could become the main motive of the crime.
The victim's mother confirmed that her daughter did receive a considerable sum, although she avoided specifying the amount for security reasons.
The relatives pointed directly to the husband of the young woman and her mother —currently detained— as possible responsible for planning the feminicide. They point out that both could have acted together motivated by economic interest.
So far, the only person detained is the mother-in-law of Carolina Flores, identified as the material author of the crime after having fled the country and being captured in Venezuela.
The femicide of Carolina Flores, which occurred in an apartment in Mexico City, continues under investigation. Although the the inheritance hypothesis has gained strength in public opinion, the authorities haven't yet confirmed the motive of the crime.
The case has caused general outrage, while waiting the advancement of the investigations to clarify whether the murder was motivated by economic interests or by other causes.
