We sneaked into the premiere of “El Señor de los Cielos 10”: this is how the evening was lived
Rafael Amaya, Carmen Aub, Isabella Castillo and more celebrities gathered at the premiere of "El Señor de los Cielos 10". We tell you all the details
In an atmosphere full of emotion and nostalgia, the official cast of “El Señor de los Cielos” gathered to celebrate “the last act” of the successful Telemundo series, whose tenth season is scheduled to premiere on July 7.
Beloved stars paraded along the red carpet of the event and are already preparing to say “goodbye” to the characters who made them internationally famous. Such was the case of the protagonist of the series, Rafael Amaya (“Aurelio Casillas”), David Ponce (“Skinny”), as well as the actresses Carmen Aub (“Rutila Casillas”), Isabella Castillo (“Diana Ahumada”).
In an exclusive chat with these personalities, La Opinión had exclusive access to some of the best kept secrets of this new and final season. One of them is the commitment to “epic and tense” action scenes that will give a lot to talk about.
New talent is also added to this edition, ranging from the actor Marco Tostado in the role of “David Hernández”, to the acclaimed Mexican actress Sandra Echeverría, who will play “Prosecutor Huerta”, a determined woman with an immovable objective: to enforce justice.
About her foray into this project, Sandra Echeverría told us: "I like that she has this mix of Mexican roots, but born in the United States. She is very intellectual, very strong and with a lot of personality. She intimidates everyone."
Also attending the premiere were Plutarco Haza, Aleida Núñez, Estefanía Hinojosa, Robinson Díaz, Roberto Sosa, Leonardo Álvarez, Roberto Valdez, Marco Méndez and Flor Benítez.
A well-deserved farewell
Despite the nostalgia generated by this “goodbye” for the cast, there is a common truth: it was necessary to conclude this story.
According to Carmen Aub, actress who plays 'Rutila Casillas', there is no more beautiful feeling than being able to give the public one last opportunity to enjoy the story and reveal the destiny that awaits each member of the cast.
"Look at me here... 12 years later, happy, celebrating this and grateful because they believed in me to give me 'Rutila Casillas', who is a character who has given me a lot and who has taught me a lot," she declared to our microphones.
“The Lord of the Skies” returns with more action and more ambition than ever
Looking ahead to the upcoming premiere of the tenth season, the cast agrees that the public will enjoy an ending different from what is expected, since through the pen of screenwriter Luis Zelkowicz they seek to honor the legacy of each of the characters.
Roberto Valdez, actor in charge of bringing the character “JP” to life, highlighted the high level of emotional tension that will be experienced during the more than 90 episodes of the story.
"Action, tears and a lot of emotions... really, you're not going to expect it. Many things are going to be surprising (...) We were recording some very emotional scenes, more or less like alluding to a farewell and it did make me very sensitive," he mentioned when asked about
And although the bet is big at the level of production and narrative, Rafael Amaya announced that this installment will be full of the essence that made the initial story a success among the Hispanic community.
"This tenth season there will be a lot of everything... power, above all. It will be like a common denominator in all the characters, but we will never lose the essence that made this series and the character iconic," he highlighted.
When and where to see the tenth season of “The Lord of the Skies”?
The long-awaited outcome of the story of 'Aurelio Casillas' will hit the screens through the Telemundo signal on July 7 at 9 p.m. ET (8 p.m. CT). This installment marks the last participation of Rafael Amaya as the feared drug trafficker of the successful series.
Regarding the upcoming premiere, Rafael said he was excited to be able to provide a narrative different from the one that predominates in today's television scene.
"You can't miss this tenth season because it's the last one we'll do for you. Now you're going to be more on the edge of your seats. Different dramas are coming and that had a lot to do with the fact that the characters go to the limit, that you'll see different things and not more of the same," he said.
