Woman stabs teenager almost a dozen times after argument over cell phone in Miami-Dade
The suspect, identified as Lynn My Le, faces charges of attempted murder with a knife after attacking a 15-year-old girl while she slept
A 15-year-old girl was repeatedly stabbed Sunday afternoon inside a residence in Cutler Bay, southwest of Miami-Dade County. The alleged assailant, Lynn My Le, 26, was arrested shortly afterward and charged with attempted murder with a weapon, in what authorities describe as a “domestic violence” incident. The police report states that the attack occurred around 3:20 pm on Sunday, October 26, when the teenager was sleeping in the living room of Le's house. Upon waking, she discovered the woman checking her cell phone. The victim attempted to flee but was caught. According to the arrest report, the young woman tried to retrieve her phone and escape, but he grabbed a knife and attacked her. “The victim tried to run toward the front door, but was stabbed approximately four times in the back,” officers stated. After collapsing, the woman continued stabbing her all over her body, even after the teenager was on the ground. “The report indicates that the victim pleaded for her life, at which point he finally stopped,” authorities added. The young woman suffered approximately 10 stab wounds. Her current condition has not been disclosed by local authorities. Lynn My Le was arrested at the scene and refused to comment during questioning. She was transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she remains incarcerated. On Monday, she appeared before a county court, where a judge assigned her a public defender, ordered her to stay away from the victim, and denied her bail while the investigation continues.
