Near the railway station of Raghunathpur in Buxar, Bihar, where this accident took place, the people nearby are used to the normal sound of the train. But, this voice was very different. It felt as if something had been rubbed loudly and then people suddenly ran towards the loud sound of rubbing on the pebbles. Before we could see anything, the sound of screaming started reaching our ears. There were pleas for rescue. Some people living near the stairs in the general bogie of the train had already fallen and got injured. Some groaned and told the people that their relatives were inside, please save them.

Many injured were being taken out in an unconscious state. The women were inconsolable. Most of the passengers from Delhi were with their big boxes and were being weighed down with these luggage. The bogie of the train was somehow crooked, due to which relief and rescue work was taking place with difficulty. The entire area was in darkness and work was being done with the help of Jugaad lights. A general bogie was badly damaged. The remaining are AC 2 and 3 tier coaches. Seeing eight bogies damaged and two entangled with each other in the dark, people are saying that the actual number of injured may reach 100.
