Billie Lourd celebrates Star Wars Day remembering her mother Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher died in 2016, at 60 years old, and left a void in millions of fans around the world
Every May 4, fans of the galaxy far, far celebrate Star Wars Day, a play on words with the iconic phrase “May the Force be with you.” And this year, Bi llie Lourd found the most emotional way to commemorate him: sharing the moment when her little children learn the legacy of their grandmother, the unforgettable Carrie Fisher.
The actress, known for her role in “American Horror Story”, posted in her Instagram stories a photograph of her children, Kingston and Jackson, watching Fisher in “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope”.
“Kingston and Jackson are officially even bigger Star Wars fans than me, and nothing gives me more joy,” Lourd wrote.
A family legacy on the big screen
Carrie Fisher, Lourd's mother, played Princess Leia Organa in the original trilogy and in “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens”, winning the love of millions of fans around the world. His death in 2016, at 60 years old after suffering a heart attack, left a huge void in cinema and in his daughter's heart.
Far from hiding her nostalgia, Billie Lourd is open about how she lives the memory of her mother. In an interview with E! News in Dec September of year, shared what it meant to show “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” to his children for the first time:
“A year ago, I showed them the movie and they were a little confused. They said: 'Is that my grandmother?'. And I answered: 'No, that is the Prince sa Leia, your grandmother is Carrie, but that is Princess Leia.'
