Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni resolve their legal dispute by “It Ends With Us”
The bitter judicial conflict that faced the actors ended after they reached an agreement. Everything arose two weeks before the trial
The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, protagonists of the movie “It Ends With Us” (2024), came to its end. Two weeks before the jui cio, the couple reached an agreement. This fact occurs days after a judge dismissed 10 of 13 lawsuits filed by Lively in April.
In a statement both parties declared their desire to move forward and leave this situation behind.
“The final result of the movie “It Ends With Us” is a source of pride for all of us who worked to make it a reality. Create awareness and generate an impact sign ificative in the lives of survivors of domestic violence —and all survivors— is a goal that we support,” says the statement cited by Page Six.
Furthermore, they recognized that “the process presented challenges and that the concerns raised by Ms.Lively deserved to be heard.”
Both sides added that they maintain “their firm commitment to workplaces free of irregularities” and hope this will enable everyone to “move forward constructively and in peace.”
The last attempt at conciliation
On February 11, Lively, 38, and Baldoni, 42, went to the United States District Court in Manhattan for a last chance to resolve their dispute before a trial scheduled for May 18.
The closed-door hearing, presided over by Justice Sarah L. Cave, marked the first time the actors faced each other in court since their legal battle began in 024. As reported by Deadline, Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, stated that the attempts at agreement “were not successful”, although he left open the possibility of resuming the talks.
The next day, Baldoni returned to the court without Lively's presence, in a new conciliation conference that also proved “unsuccessful.”
In December 2024, Lively sued the director and co-star for sexual harassment on the set of “It Ends With Us”. Baldoni denied the allegations and, in January 2025, filed a countersuit for $400 mi llions against the actress, her husband Ryan Reynolds, 49 , and her publicist,Leslie Sloane, for defamation, extortion, and other charges. However, Baldoni's lawsuit was dismissed in June 2025.
For now, it is expected that more details about the agreement will be released in the coming days.
