Blake Lively tries to prolong her legal battle against Justin Baldoni with one last request
The actress filed a last-minute motion in an attempt to extend litigation against her It Ends With Us co-star
The prolonged and high-profile legal dispute between actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni seems to resist reaching a definitive end.
After months of intense legal confrontations that marred the success of the film adaptation of “It Ends With Us,” Lively has filed a new and final petition with the courts in an attempt to prolong the case, according to official documents obtained exclusively by Page Six.
This unexpected legal action comes just days after the United States District Court judge ruled resoundingly in Lively's favor.
The magistrate ordered Baldoni to cover all of the actress's attorneys' fees generated by the $400 million defamation countersuit that he had filed against her, which ended up being dismissed by the court for lack of legal basis.
Despite having obtained this important financial victory and the fact that the main lawsuits for workplace harassment and mutual retaliation were mostly resolved or dismissed weeks ago, the actress insists on keeping the judicial front open.
His new technical resource seeks to reevaluate specific aspects of the economic damages and losses that, according to his legal team, were pending an adequate resolution after the previous lawsuits were shelved.
Baldoni's representatives, for their part, argue that this move is an unnecessary attempt to drag out the process, according to Page Six.
