Danilo Carrera creates his own production company on behalf of everyone who never trusted him
The actor hopes to sell this film well, because that way they can start working on the other two that are coming
“Be Delusional” is the name of the production company founded by actor Danilo Carrera. As part of the work of this company, he presents his first film, in which he serves as producer, writer, co-director, and star, titled “Only in CDMX.”
The name of the production company is inspired by the names of all those who doubted he could achieve his dreams.
He spoke with Mezcal TV about this creative and work process from the blue carpet of the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards. "I know it's been a long time since the news broke that crazy Danilo started producing independent films. We just finished the movie two days ago, I just received the final cut, and now comes the part where I introduce you to my production company, which is Be Delusional," said the actor.
“Why is it called 'Be Delusional'? Be crazy, be irreverent.”
When people tell you, “No! That's impossible, you can't do that, you can't achieve it,” on the contrary, go and do it, believe in your dreams,” emphasized the villain of “Velvet, the New Empire.”
For two years, Danilo Carrera has had to overcome a series of problems to bring this entire project to fruition. The truth is, making an independent production where I was the one who put up the money to produce the film…,” the actor pointed out.
“I'll tell you. "I pretended I wasn't stressed, but I was. I mean, it was like I was the leader here, people had to think everything was perfect," Carrera said. But despite everything, the actor did question himself and the work he was doing. So at the end, of course, the work itself was stressful. "I've never done this in my life, I've never been a producer, actor, director, writer. I mean, imagine your co-director tells you, 'Danilo, this scene changed'; so you have to write a scene to film tomorrow at noon, but it's four in the morning and you have to get home and rewrite the script."But you're also acting in that scene that you're going to direct with this other director.”
The actor's reflections presented him with real crises that he had to learn to resolve on a daily basis, according to information from Mezcal TV.
