Diego Luna premieres in Cannes “Ceniza in la boca”, his new project as director

The Mexican artist Diego Luna has stepped strongly during his arrival at the Cannes Festival with his fourth project as director. It's about the film “Ashes in the Mouth” (“Ashes”), premiered during the day of this May 13 in an event that gathered stars such as Alfonso Cuarón and Gael García Bernal.
The latter took the microphones minutes before the screening to dedicate a few words to his friend and colleague, congratulating him for his work in the production based on the work of writer Brenda Navarro.

Likewise, he took the opportunity to highlight the performances of Anna Diaz and Adriana Paz, protagonists of the movie.

Diego Luna's role as director doesn't come unprepared. His debut in this important role came in 2011, with the film “Abel”, described as a tragicomedy that launched a criticism against patriarchy and more culinity in Mexico. “Ash in the mouth” will come to Netflix in 2027
The successes don't stop for the Mexican actor and filmmaker, because Netflix Latin America confirmed that the production “Ash in the mouth” will come to the platform ma after presenting at the Cannes Festival. According to the first reports, the film will arrive in the platform's catalog in 2027.
Along this news, the entertainment giant shared the official synopsis of the story that conquered the public of Cannes this May 13th.
“Lucila leaves Mexico with her younger brother to join her mother in Madrid, who had left a few years before in search of a better future. "what awaits them turns out to be much harder than what Lucia had imagined. Still, she is determined to make the most of this new and fragile life," it reads from the streaming platform.
