The Mexican actress and the Puerto Rican host met to enjoy a soccer evening that saw Mexico take the victory against Ecuador
The excitement experienced within the 2026 World Cup has infected young and old, and the recent victory of the Mexican team against Ecuador to advance to the round of 16 caused dozens of celebrities to join the celebration of the Mexican people. Such was the case of actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez and Puerto Rican Maripily Rivera.
Through her Instagram account, the winner of “La Casa de los Famosos” posted a couple of Instagram stories with which she documented the evening she lived in the company of the actress and a group of friends.
The clips showed them enjoying the sporting event from their home, in the midst of an atmosphere full of support for Mexico. And both Elizabeth Gutiérrez and other members of her group of friends proudly wore the national team shirt.
The level of joy rose when Mexico's first goal fell at the hands of Julián Quiñones, as demonstrated by the video in which the Puerto Rican appears screaming and applauding with the most smiles.
“Yes, long live Mexico!”, you hear both celebrities say once Raúl Jiménez scored the second goal that guaranteed victory for Javier Aguirre's team.
It is worth mentioning that former Miss Universe Andrea Meza, host of “La Mesa Caliente”, was part of the celebration along with Maripily Rivera and Elizabeth Gutiérrez. Like the rest of his friends, he wore the Mexican national team shirt.
Other celebrities who were noticed on social networks for their support of Mexico were Becky G, Camila Cabello, Nicola Porcella, Maria José, Pepe Aguilar, Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar.
After this victory, the Mexican team awaits the winner of the duel between England and the Democratic Republic of Congo to earn a place in the next round of the World Cup.
