The special edition doll will be part of the "Barbie Signature" line, a collection that Mattel has created in honor of music and pop culture figures.
Singer Miley Cyrus has joined the list of celebrities who are honored with their own Barbie! According to Mattel, a doll inspired by the American singer will be released under the Barbie Signature line.
In a recently shared statement, the toy company confirmed that the “Flowers” singer will be the next artist to star in a special edition of ‘Barbie’ within the line specialized in portraying figures from pop culture, music and contemporary history.
The design of said toy will show Miley Cyrus in a black leather outfit, with dark glasses, heels and a microphone as an accessory, portraying the aesthetic she wears in her music video for the song “Golden Burning Sun.”
The doll in honor of Miley Cyrus will be on sale through Amazon, Walmart and Target, with a listed price of approximately $60.

After the announcement shared on June 30, the music star shared his feelings about such an honor and revealed some details of the design process, in which he participated directly.
"Seeing my Barbie for the first time is truly a dream come true. We spent a lot of time going over every detail. Every detail was intentional, from the look, hair, accessories and makeup to the structure," he stated in a statement from Mattel.
In this sense, he explained that far from seeking perfection, they focused on sticking to the aesthetics of their musical proposal: “It was not about making it perfect, because that would not represent me, but rather about capturing the essence of this 'Golden Burning Sun' look,” he added.
In addition to Miley Cyrus, Mattel has honored the musical career and social impact of stars such as: Stevie Nicks, astronaut Ellen Ochoa and singer Aaliyah, to name a few.
