Hilary Duff reveals she received 'zero education' in her childhood as an actress
During an interview on the 'Table Manners' podcast, Duff stated that she did not receive a good education in her childhood
While for millions of teenagers in the 2000s, Hilary Duff was the guide to surviving high school through her character Lizzie McGuire, the reality of her own education was very different. The actress and singer recently revealed that, due to her early career in the arts, she received what she herself describes as a “mediocre” education. In a candid conversation with singer Jessie Ware and her mother, Lennie, on the Table Manners podcast, Duff spoke openly about her unusual childhood. When asked if she was homeschooled, the actress responded with a knowing wink, confirming that it was “barely” an education. “I received zero education as a child,” Duff confessed, revealing that it was her mother who took the initiative to get her GED. Despite this lack of traditional education, the star of Daddy's Home doesn't feel disadvantaged. “I know a lot about a lot of things,” she stated, explaining that she was an avid reader from a young age and taught herself about the subjects that truly fascinated her.
On her children's education
Far from regretting not having pursued higher education, Duff sees it as part of her unique journey.
With humor, she admitted that she isn't embarrassed by not knowing exact dates of historical events, joking that “that's what Google and ChatGPT are for.”
“I think I don't care anymore that my education wasn't excellent,” the actress reflected, “because I feel like I have strengths in other areas and that helps me. And I'm not embarrassed to ask about any subject,” she mentioned.
However, when it comes to her four children, the story is completely different. For Luca (13), Banks (7), Mae (4), and Townes (1), Duff considers receiving a good education “much more important.” The actress, who is married to musician Matthew Koma, deeply values ??the educational system in which her children are immersed and enjoys learning from them.
“Something great has been connecting with my son and him teaching me things I didn't know because he's receiving an excellent education,” Duff shared.
Currently,Duff is promoting his new album 'Luck… or Something,' in which he addresses themes such as adulthood, love, heartbreak, and parental abandonment.
