Singer Jennifer Lopez kicked off a series of performances on Tuesday night, December 30, for her residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will be her first in Sin City in over a decade.
The Diva The Bronx native took advantage of her return to Las Vegas to joke about how much her life has changed in recent years and even gave a recap of her love life.
“It's a great honor to have been invited back. Do you know it's been 10 years, 10 years since my last residency here? Almost 10 years, exactly. It was in January. It went by in a flash, right?! In that time I've only been married twice,” JLo joked.
Her first performance, held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, allowed Jennifer Lopez to feel right at home and continue joking about her love life.
“That's not true. It was only once. It felt like two. Just kidding. It's over and we just… It's okay,” continued JLo, who had the complicity of her musicians and fans in the comical recap of her personal life.
Despite bringing up her recent romantic setbacks, the ex-wife of Alex Rodriguez and Ben Affleck also took time to reflect and assure everyone that she's feeling better than ever and ready to take on the world.
“Everything is fine. The good news is that I'm learning and growing, and we're in our happy phase. I'm in my happy phase,” the singer concluded convincingly.
In addition to discussing her failed romance with the star of 'Batman,' Jennifer Lopez also revisited her relationship with salsa singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has twin sons and from whom she separated in 2011.
“It was after my third divorce (from Marc Anthony) that I really started to get good at this (dancing),” continued the singer, who admitted that she was going through a very difficult time, to the point that she considered giving up, but a wise voice brought her back to her senses.
“It was a difficult time, and it was one of those moments when I was about to give up.adding that she found solace in the late Louise Hay, who found the right words at the right time to encourage the singer to keep going.
