Maribel Guardia was removed as guardian of her grandson: who now occupies this position?
Journalist Addis Tuñón exhibited a legal document that supports the judicial decision on the revocation of this function from the Costa Rican
The legal battle between Maribel Guardia and Imelda Tuñón has taken an unexpected turn after a judge relieved the Costa Rican of her role as guardian of José Julian, son of the late singer Julián Figueroa.
According to a legal document displayed in “De Primero Mano”, the judge's verdict was obtained as a result of an appearance held two weeks ago, attended by people close to the minor, including his maternal grandparents.
However, it was reported that Maribel Guardia and her husband Marco Chacón, who until now is the executor of the child's assets, did not attend this appearance before the judge prior to obtaining the resolution.
This is how it was announced that the new guardian of the 8-year-old child is the journalist Addis Tuñón, Imelda's aunt and host of said entertainment program: "Today I was summoned to accept this position, it is a responsibility and I accepted it. With all the love I have for the minor and with all the closeness we have," the communicator specified.
Addis Tuñón indicated that she had already exercised her first power as guardian of José Julián by formally requesting the removal of Marco Chacón as the minor's executor. The petition has been issued under the accusation that he has not been responsible for the child's support for three years.
"I want to share something important with you. The first action I take as guardian, with this position, is to request the removal of Mr. Marco Chacón as executor. This request was already made today," said the television presenter.
In her statements, Imelda Tuñón's aunt indicated that her only purpose as the child's guardian is to guarantee his well-being by making use of the assets inherited by her father Julián Figueroa.
"It is a position with legal responsibility, which has to make all movements known. The guardian, in this case Maribel, had to ensure that the executor looked after the food, education, entertainment and health of the minor (...) In three years, neither the guardian nor the executor provided food for the minor," he stated.
For their part, Maribel Guardia and Marco Chacón have kept a low profile and have not issued statements about the judge's decision, despite the commotion that was generated by the report.
