Melania Trump confirms she knows how to do business by presenting her own film company
Melania Trump presented her own film company, which will earn her $40 million after selling a documentary in advance
Melania Trump, the nation's first lady, once again demonstrated her ability to conduct lucrative business by presenting her own film production company, which is developing a documentary that she sold months ago for $40 million.
Although last year she stated that she would not be so involved in Just as she did during her husband Donald Trump's first term in the White House, the former Slovenian model is masterfully leveraging the aura of fame that surrounds her as First Lady. In October, she announced that, in exchange for $40 million, she had finalized an agreement with Amazon MGM Studios, a film and television production and distribution subsidiary of Amazon, related to the distribution of a documentary through its platform, which would also premiere in theaters. “I had the idea to make a movie about my life. My life is incredible. It's incredibly busy, and I said to my agent, 'I have this idea, so please go out and make a deal with me,'” Melania said in an interview with Fox News. At that time, it was said that Brett Ratner, filmmaker known for the “Rush Hour” saga, would direct the documentary, titled “Melania,” and that the First Lady would assume the role of production company.
“It offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 presidential inauguration, through the eyes of the first lady-elect herself,” stated a press release issued by Amazon MGM Studios.
Although it was announced that the documentary would premiere at the end of January, it wasn't until this Friday that the wife of the nation's leader presented her own film production company, which she decided to call Muse Films.
Through a message posted on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, the first lady also offered a 10-second preview of the aforementioned documentary, which will first be shown in theaters and, days later,It will be streamed on Prime Video.
“PRESENTING: MUSE FILMS. My new production company. MELANIA, the film, exclusively in theaters worldwide on January 30, 2026,” she wrote in the post.
It's noteworthy that Amazon had never paid so much money for a documentary, and perhaps that explains why they outbid Disney and Paramount, since initially it was thought they would only get a third of what they ultimately paid.
