The 2026 awards season officially kicked off, and the 83rd annual Golden Globes ceremony, hosted for the second year in a row by comedian Nikki Glaser, was a resounding success. This year, one of the favorite films was Paul Thomas Anderson's 'One Battle After Another,' which arrived at the Golden Globes with nine nominations. Chalamet came in as a strong contender, having won the Critics' Choice Award, and made his entrance as the favorite for his ping-pong comedy-drama 'Marty Supreme.' In the television race, the HBO drama set in a luxury hotel, 'White Lotus,' led the list of nominees with six, including nominations for best performances from Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Walton Goggins, and Jason Isaacs. The Netflix miniseries 'Adolescence,' which chronicles a murder case in one long, continuous take, followed closely with five nominations. Young Owen Cooper took home the Golden Globe for his performance, after having won the Critics' Choice Award.
