Former beauty queen Yolanda Hadid moved internet users with her most recent feat on social media: a love letter to her daughter Bella Hadid in which she spoke for the first time about the difficult battle she faces with Lyme disease, which was diagnosed in 2013.
Through her Instagram account, the renowned model's mother posted a carousel of images that gave a rare glimpse into the endless unsuccessful treatments her daughter has undergone in search of a cure for her condition.
“Watching my Bella fight in silence has turned apart the deepest hopelessness I feel (…) The invisible disability of chronic neurological Lyme disease is difficult for anyone to explain or understand. I try to lead by example in our fight against Lyme disease, but my own pain does not compare to watching my baby suffer,” she shared.
And we cannot forget that Yolanda Hadid was diagnosed with the same disease as her daughter, just a year earlier, in 2012: “After fifteen years of exploring the world, I remain determined to find an affordable cure for everyone,” she added.
The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star continued her message with A few words of admiration for her daughter Bella for her strength in the face of the challenges she has faced as a result of Lyme disease.
“You are relentless and brave. No child should suffer in their body with an incurable chronic illness (…) I admire your courage and your willingness to continue fighting for your health despite the failed protocols and the countless setbacks you have faced,” she expressed.
Visibly affected by the situation, but full of positivity, Yolanda Hadid reiterated: “I am so proud of the fighter that you are. You are not alone, I promise you that I will support you every step of the way, no matter how long it takes (…) We will continue fighting for better days, together. You are a survivor… I love you so much, my warrior,” she concluded.
