Ankita Bhandari's body was recovered from Chilla Canal in Rishikesh on Saturday morning. Ankita, a 19-year-old receptionist who was allegedly murdered by BJP leader Vinod Arya's son Pulkit Arya, has been arrested along with two other accused. At the same time, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on this murder, SIT has been formed to investigate the matter. He said, in order to get the harshest punishment to the culprits, a SIT under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police P Renuka Devi ji has been formed and orders have also been ordered for an in-depth investigation of this serious matter.

Dhami said in another tweet that action has been taken on the illegally built resort of the accused late on Friday night. He said that it is our resolve that the culprits of this heinous crime will not be spared. Abhinav Kumar, Special Principal Secretary to CM also told that Vantara Resort in Rishikesh owned by Pulkit Arya is being demolished on the instructions of the Chief Minister.
