Court sent Mahirul to 14-day jail custody in Bhadu Sheikh murder case
In this case, the absconding accused Mahirul Sheikh was again produced by the CBI in the Rampurhat Divisional Court on Monday.
Trinamool leader and deputy head Bhadu Sheikh was brutally murdered on March 21 in Bagtui village of Barsal Gram Panchayat under Rampurhat police station in Birbhum district of West Bengal . The court sent the accused to jail custody for 14 days after the absconding accused Mahirul Sheikh was again produced by the CBI in the Rampurhat Divisional Court on Monday. It is said that Mahirul Sheikh was arrested by the CBI on October 18 last. After this he was sent to CBI custody by the court for six days. Today, after the remand period is over, the court has sent the accused to jail custody after presenting the accused again in the court.
CBI had arrested 10 accused in Bhadu Sheikh murder case
It is said that till now the CBI has arrested 10 accused in Bhadu Sheikh's murder case. Recently Manirull and Dabur Sheikh were also arrested by CBI. After the brutal murder of Bhadu Sheikh in Bagtui of Rampurhat, the incident of massacre also took place on the same night. The followers of Bhadu Sheikh set fire to about 10 houses and burnt to death 10 people alive. There was intense condemnation for this incident in the state as well as across the country. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself reached the spot and got Trinamool's block president Anarul Hussain arrested. Later, after the direction of the High Court, the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI.
CBI continues action
When the CBI was investigating the incident of massacre, the case of Bhadu Sheikh's murder was also handed over to the CBI after the direction of the High Court. According to information received from CBI sources, other accused absconding in Bhadu Sheikh murder case will also be arrested soon. The chargesheet will be submitted soon after a complete investigation regarding the same massacre incident, although local people say that many accused are still out of the custody of the CBI, which is holding a high position.
