Flights will start from Noida International Airport from September 2024. However, its trial will start from February. To know the progress report of the under construction Noida International Airport (Jewar), the Secretary of the Civil Aviation Ministry conducted an online review on Friday.
In the meeting, information was collected about the status of every work related to the project including runway, terminal building, ATC tower, connectivity. So far, about 60 percent of the work has been completed. It was told in the meeting that under the Gatishakti scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will review the airport on November 29.
It is important that the airport is included in the priorities not only of the state but also of the central government. Every possible effort is being made to complete this important project on time. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is monitoring it. Constant review is being done as the flight time approaches. The flight has to be started at any cost before the Lok Sabha elections.
In such a situation, on Friday, Union Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Wualnam held a review meeting with senior officials of the concerned departments including the airport developer company to know the progress report of the project. Every work related to the project was reviewed in depth.
In the online meeting, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary Civil Aviation Uttar Pradesh SP Goyal, Airport Authority Chairman, GM, Yamuna Authority CEO Dr. Arunveer Singh, ACEO Kapil Singh, Vipin Jain and officials of all related departments and developer companies participated. ATC tower will be ready by 31st December
The construction work of the eight-floor ATC tower will be completed by December 31. The work is progressing rapidly and the linter of the roof of the eighth floor has been laid. After this the dome will be constructed. After finishing and installation of equipment, it will be handed over to the airport authority. Its target has been set for 31st December.
Water supply will start by 31st May
Two tube wells of 8 MLD capacity are to be built for water supply in the airport. Its work will be completed by May 31, so that there is no problem of water after the opening of the airport. To ensure that the airport work is completed within the stipulated time, the number of workers engaged in the construction work has been increased. At present more than seven thousand people are working day and night.
Rescue center will be completed by June 30
The construction work of the rescue center to be built near the airport will be completed by June 30, 2024. Yamuna Authority has given land for this. The construction of the rescue center has to be completed at any cost before the flight starts. The construction work of 750 meter road to connect four interchanges and Yamuna Expressway to the airport will also be completed in time.
