Heatwave Claims Lives in Bihar
Severe heatwave continues to claim lives in Bihar, with 64 more deaths reported on Friday. The state grapples with extreme weather conditions as officials respond.
In many areas of Bihar, people are still dying due to severe heat and scorching heatwave. On Friday, 64 more people died in the state due to heatwave. According to information, seven people died in Gopalganj Sadar Hospital due to the heatwave. Five of these died during treatment, while two people were declared dead by the doctor at the time of arrival. Homeguard Jawan Satendra Thakur (55 years) from Bettiah, who was on duty at the dispatch center in Dumraon, Buxar, died. Prabhat Kumar Mukesh, a journalist of a daily news, died in Goraul, Hajipur.
The Dance of Death Continues in Bihar
Six people died in Rohtas district. Four of them are said to be election workers. Among the dead are Prof. Abhijeet Kumar of Nehu College Dehri, posted as magistrate, teacher Pradeep Kumar, Block attendant Ramji Singh of Nasriganj and Srikant Tiwari, a resident of Kaimur. Four people are reported dead in Kaimur district. These include Shahnawaz Khan of Rohtas, who had come to Mohania to contribute for the election, and health worker Shivnarayan. At the same time, 17 people died in Aurangabad and 10 more in Gaya due to heatwave. Here, Daroga Dadan Prasad Singh, a resident of Chatar village of Badhara, Bhojpur, posted in Munger Traffic Police Station, died in a nursing home due to heatwave.
Disaster Management Department's Claim
The Disaster Management Department has issued a press release saying that Bihar is facing severe heat and heatwave conditions. According to the information received so far, a total of 14 people have died due to heatwave till the evening of May 30. These include 10 election workers and four others. The department said that among the dead, five have died in Bhojpur, three in Rohtas, one in Kaimur and one election worker in Aurangabad. The process of giving ex-gratia grant to the families of the dead is underway.
Death Due to Storm and Water
Here, when the weather changed, the havoc of nature was also seen. 600 trees fell due to the storm and rain that came on Thursday night in West and East Champaran, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur districts. Five people died due to falling of trees and lightning.
