Solutions to life-threatening problems like Alzheimer's, cancer and snake venom will be found at the National Institute of Biomedical Sciences, started in Hyderabad. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated it on Saturday.
The National Institute of Biological Research Animal Resource Facility (NARFBR) under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) located in New Delhi is the largest institute in the whole of South Asia including India, where pre-clinical trials, also known as animal trials, from drugs will take place. According to the information received from ICMR, this institute has separate places for horses, monkeys, dogs, rats, rabbits.
By doing research on horses, many types of anti-serum including snake venom can be prepared here. At the same time, research on monkeys will find a cure for diseases like Alzheimer's. For the past several years, China has been doing research on monkeys in a similar lab here. Apart from this, research will be done here on rabbits, rats for cancer or other infectious diseases. A senior scientist of ICMR told that till now this type of lab was promoting the science of China, UK or America, but now in India also we have a state-of-the-art center for bio-research, which will be used for those diseases. Whose treatment is not yet known in medical science. Research on diseases like Alzheimer's is going on at the National Research Center in Manesar, Haryana, but this research will be much easier with this lab.
He told that the way India showed its strength in the search for investigation, treatment and vaccine in Corona, similarly the research of Indian scientists for other diseases will also come from the formation of this institute. According to ICMR, the study of animals is necessary in biomedical research. Because it helps in knowing the causes of animal borne and other diseases and in their investigation and treatment.
Will conduct research across the country
According to lead scientists, this institute spread over more than 100 acres in Hyderabad has more than 20 buildings in which different animals are being quarantined. This institute will also act as a facilitator for the rest of the country's research centers for their research and will lead the country's studies.
