Jharkhand Education Department's order on hold, 18000 schools not giving report of attendance of children
All the schools in Jharkhand have been directed to submit 100% attendance report of the children on daily basis.

The Department of School Education and Literacy has instructed all the schools of the state to report 100% attendance of children daily. Despite this, the schools are not reporting the attendance of the children to the department. Whereas, out of the total children enrolled in government schools of the state, on an average 10 lakh children remain absent daily. Here, the number of schools reporting attendance is also decreasing every month.
There are a total of 35,430 schools in the state. These schools have to inform the daily attendance of the children to the Department of School Education and Literacy through the e-Vidyavahini portal. In this, class-wise total enrolled children and the number of children on that day have to be told. According to the report prepared by the department, in October 15,993 schools, while in November 18,237 schools did not report the attendance of children to the department. A total of 54.86 percent schools in October and 48.53 percent schools in November reported the attendance of children. That is, the number of schools giving attendance information has decreased by six percent as compared to last month.
Palamu's condition is worst, Bokaro tops
Palamu is the worst in reporting the attendance of children. Here only 23.52 percent schools are giving information about the attendance of children. This situation is when it has increased by five percent as compared to October. There are 10 districts in the state, where less than 50 percent of the schools are giving this information. On the other hand, most of the schools in Bokaro are reporting the attendance of children. In the month of November, 78.32 percent schools of Bokaro have given attendance information.
20 thousand teachers are not making online attendance
Teachers in the state have also been instructed to make an online presence. Even after this, the number of teachers who do not make online presence is increasing. There are 115790 teachers working in government schools of the state. According to the report prepared by the department, on an average 101719 teachers registered their attendance online every day in October. Whereas, according to the report prepared in November, the number of such teachers increased to 20063. In the month of November, on an average only 95727 teachers registered their attendance online through e-Vidyavahini.
