The Karnataka High Court has stayed the order of a Bengaluru court temporarily suspending the Twitter handle of Congress and its movement Bharat Jodo Yatra. Along with the ban order, the Karnataka High Court has also said that the Congress will have to remove the copyright related post. At the same time, the court has also said that Congress must provide screenshots of the post infringing the defendant's copyright. It is noteworthy that earlier the Karnataka unit of Congress had reached the Karnataka High Court against the order of the lower court. 

The Karnataka court had ordered the Congress alleging that it has violated the copyright law by using the song of KGF Chapter 2. MRT Music had filed a case in the court regarding this. On the petition of the company, a lower court in Bengaluru has ordered a ban on the website of Bharat Jodi Abhiyan and the Twitter account of Congress on Monday. The court said that its Twitter account and the website of Bharat Jodo Yatra should be blocked for using a film song by Congress without permission. In the case filed by MRT Music, Congress, MP Rahul Gandhi, Supriya Shrinet and Twitter Inc. has been made the respondent. 

Congress had claimed – the copy of the order was not received, while on Monday, the Congress reacted to it after the Twitter handle was temporarily blocked by the court. The Congress had said that it was considering all legal options, including challenging the order in the higher court. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a post from the official handle of Congress on Twitter at 8.19 pm on 7 November, 'We have read on social media about the adverse order of a Bengaluru court against the Congress and Bharat Jodo handle. We were neither informed nor summoned about the proceedings of the court. We have not received the order. We are considering all legal remedies in this matter.  

Actually, a case was registered against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi under the Copyright Act. Rahul Gandhi is on his India Jodo Yatra these days. Several videos were made to be shared on social media to promote the visit. In these, Congress has used the music of superstar Yash's film 'KGF', due to which KGF Chapter 2 fame MRT Music had filed a complaint under the Copyright Act. Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh and Supriya Shrinet have been named in this FIR lodged at Yesvantpur police station on the basis of a complaint by MRT Music.

The claim made in the complaint is being claimed by the music label that in the marketing videos prepared by the Indian National Congress for the Bharat Jodo Yatra, they have used songs from the film. However, MRT Music's permission/license was not sought from Congress to do so.

The FIR was registered against the three leaders of the party and the Congress under these sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 465 (punishment for forgery), 120 sections 403, 465 and 120B R/W Section 34 and Information Technology Act, An FIR has been registered under Section 66 of 2000 and Section 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957.  Rahul Gandhi targets Center over demonetisation

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation. He said that this is a deliberate step taken by PayPM. So that it can be decided that two or three billionaire friends of theirs can monopolize India's economy. Speaking during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Maharashtra, he said that the decision taken by PM Modi in 2016 was a planned attack by the government on farmers and middle-class families as well as small and medium businesses. 

The truth is that demonetisation was not a step to eliminate black money, Rahul Gandhi said. It was an attack on small traders, small and medium businesses and farmers. He said that every poor is still struggling with that effect.
