Former minister Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani did not do any work in jail during the mandatory sentence of 18 years and 7 months in the poetess Madhumita murder case. This is the reason why not even a single rupee has been made for them. According to Jail Superintendent Dilip Pandey, the couple was ill. His medical report had written about comfort. Secondly, he stayed in the medical college for most of the time. Because of this he was not employed.

At the same time, the couple, who were sentenced to life imprisonment, remained admitted in the Medical College Hospital on Saturday even after their release. It is believed that both will remain there for a few more days. Will go home only after getting completely healthy on the advice of doctors.

Prisoners are made to do some work or the other when they go to jail after being punished. As per rules, they also get remuneration for this. The money goes into his account. However, Amarmani and his wife remained in the medical college for most of the sentence. Whenever he was in jail, no work was taken from him on the advice of doctors.

Former minister Amarmani, who is suffering from many diseases including insomnia, stress, is still in the private ward of BRD Medical College even after being released from jail on Friday. There was talk of health checkup of the former minister and his wife on Saturday, but no doctor went to the ward till noon. However, the Medical College Administration is shying away from saying anything in this matter.

After his release on Friday late evening, it was discussed that he would go to his village. But on Saturday too he stayed in the private ward. It has been told that he is currently under the supervision of doctors, so even after medical examination, he will be discharged from the hospital. There was silence throughout the day outside the private ward on Saturday. Those who meet the former minister have been prohibited from coming here. Because of the prohibition, no one came to meet him. Only two or three people, including his personal assistant, were seen in the verandah outside the ward. Medical students living in the opposite hostel told that there was no movement on Saturday as compared to Friday.
