The Bombay High Court refused urgent hearing on the bail plea of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik in the money laundering case and adjourned the hearing till January 6. The Court has directed the ED to file a reply within two weeks regarding the health condition of Nawab Malik. That is, if told, Nawab Malik will have to eat jail bread even on the occasion of New Year.
Nawab Malik had filed a petition in the High Court on last Monday (December 12) itself
Tell that Nawab Malik had approached the High Court on last Monday (December 12). This petition was filed by Malik through advocates Tarak Syed and Kushal Mor. The High Court had given time to hear the matter on Tuesday. Earlier on November 30, a special court had rejected Malik's bail plea in the case.
Nawab Malik surrounded in a land deal linked to Dawood Ibrahim
Nawab Malik was arrested in an alleged money laundering case related to a land deal involving fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. Malik was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in February this year and has been in jail since then. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.
